Africa banking & Finance Conference 2012

November 24, 2011 in Events

March 6, 2012toMarch 7, 2012

The 2nd Annual Africa banking & Finance Conference – ABFC 2012 will again be held in Nairobi Kenya on the 6 -7 March 2012. The hugely successful ABFC 2011 wrapped up with a resounding agreement among speakers that Africa is on a growth trajectory but still remains a high risk- high return proposition. The large unbanked or financially excluded population, (up to 78% in some countries), the growing middle class consumers, infrastructure development needs and the growing external interest on Africa are some of the factors posing both opportunities and challenges for the banking & finance industry in Africa.

Held in Strategic Partnership with Kenya Bankers Association, the 2nd Annual Africa banking & Finance Conference – ABFC 2012 will gather industry thought leaders in dynamic debates and your representatives will interact with international as well as regional players in the banking, finance and investment community. High profile audience of policy makers, regulators, consultants, diplomats, academics, and government officials will attend ABFC 2012.

Horn of Africa Conference 2012 – Infrastructure & Development

March 7, 2012 in Events

March 12, 2012toMarch 13, 2012

The Horn of Africa Initiative Donors/Investors Conference is a unique event and gives a rare opportunity to discuss Infrastructure developments in the region. The Conference offers a perfect setting for the region to showcase its priority regional infrastructure projects in Transport, Water and Energy to International Donor Community, Development Partners, Infrastructure Funds and other Investment Funds. The Conference will be a unique event from a number of perspectives.

First, in addition to the large national and multinational enterprises that will participate, it would be the first such event where special attention will be given to the roles that the Regional Political Leadership can play in the provision of trans-boundary infrastructure with African, European-ACP and non-EU-ACP “third-party” countries

Secondly, this will be the first ever Infrastructure Conference under the IGAD and in this regard special emphasis will be placed on infrastructure’s role in intra-IGAD trade promotion and enhanced connectivity and business opportunities that originate from all the Member States of IGAD would be equally considered.

Thirdly, the Conference can be considered as a Forum in which all types of strategic investment choices and business modalities will be equally examined and promoted, i.e. public- private partnerships, joint ventures, management contracts, technology transfer, rehabilitation, expansion, technical assistance etc.

Finally, policy makers together with project sponsors and Member States will meet and interact through a series of meetings and many networking activities. In addition, sponsors will attend the strategic summit sessions led by the thought leaders in the infrastructure investments industry.

Financing Low Cost Housing Africa

December 10, 2011 in Events

March 28, 2012 6:00 pmtoMarch 29, 2012 6:00 pm

New Models Of Financing Low-Cost Housing Are Constantly Evolving

With a dramatic housing crisis in Africa, now is the time for change.

MFIs, Banks, NGOs and newly established, dedicated Housing MicroFinance lenders are moving into housing lending across the continent. In order to scale up the incremental housing process, increase your reach and create a robust urban infrastructure, you will need to secure foreign investment, gain government buy in and deliver durable technical assistance.
